Autism Sensory Overload- Auditory Hypersensitivity
The aim of this video animation is to help teachers, therapists and parents understand some of the triggers of auditory sensory overload, which may cause students to panic, be aggressive or have a meltdown.
Many challenging behaviors associated with autism may in fact be sensory seeking or avoiding behaviors. It is important to meet a students' sensory needs so that they can engage with learning.
Please note: to be 'parent friendly' this animation has no sound, so that parents can watch it anytime without any noise disturbing their child.
