Description

This informational text was created to bring awareness and encourage acceptance of those with Autism Spectrum Disorder. It explains what Autism is and sheds light on many of the challenges those with ASD face. Specifically, it discusses the communication challenges autistic people experience, their desire for predictability and routine, their special interests, the unique ways in which they may play with things, sensory differences, stimming, and the intense emotional reactions they may experience. This book provides information on the many characteristics of Autism, how these characteristics can be challenging for those with ASD, and how neurotypical people can support those on the spectrum.
