*Brand New Activity for Your Classroom!*

Using real-life pictures to demonstrate an event or occurrence
(action) and what may follow (reaction), brings learning up close and personal for our special needs students. Created for students in K-3rd special needs classrooms, your students will see familiar situations and what may occur after. Each file folder contains room for 12 pictures, six Action (What happened?) cards and six Reaction (What will I do?) cards, for a total of 36 pictures in all (18 sets). For more complex learners, you may show the Action card to the student and have him/her choose the correct Reaction card. This activity is perfect as an independent work task, working with a classroom assistant to reinforce skills, as well as for writing prompts and Speech and Language development.

ACTIONS and REACTIONS included in this set of 3 file folder lessons:
*spill milk/wipe up the milk
*wrap a gift/give the gift to my friend
*rain makes a puddle/splash in the puddle
*a broken pencil point/sharpen the pencil
*a tooth fell out/put the tooth under my pillow
*shoes are too tight/get new shoes that fit
*pour the cereal/eat the cereal
*write a letter/mail the letter
*scoop the ice cream/eat the ice cream
*a bruised knee/put a band-aid on it
*turn off the alarm clock/be late for work
*an empty refrigerator/buy food
*pack my backpack/go to school
*put my shoe on/tie my shoes
*peel the banana/eat the banana
*catch a basketball/throw a basketball
*get my glasses/put my glasses on
*get my toothbrush/brush my teeth

SUGGESTED IEP GOAL ALIGNMENT:
Given a set of picture cards depicting an event or occurrence as it happens, along with a set of picture cards which provide a response to the event or occurrence, STUDENT will match sets of Action with Response cards with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 consecutive opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
