This packet helps students in the lower grades or those diagnosed with autism and other cognitive disabilities to learn about rules. After looking at a rule/picture scenario, the student identifies whether an individual is violating the rule after scanning a social scenario. The student answers yes or no in response to questions about rule breaking. There are 40 social challenge rules which; can be laminated for longer use. The activity is meant to encourage discussions about rules. Students may or may not be developmentally ready to discuss all 42 cards. Students on the autism spectrum frequently struggle with pronouns and the social rule challenge questions will also help address this weakness.
This activity helps students understand that as members of a community, there are rules and laws we follow in a family, school, and community.
