Common Core Speaking and Listening Standards are reinforced through hands on activities.
Children that can follow directions and demonstrate age appropriate social skills are more likely to succeed in school.
The materials in this packet were designed to be used with flexibility. There is so much variation in the abilities of preschool and kindergarten students, it can be difficult to plan centers. Additionally, many preschool classes are integrated with “typical” and “special needs” students in the same program. Kindergarten students are often mainstreamed for centers. Play Doh Pizzeria includes materials and adaptations to use with all your students from beginning readers and writers to limited language students.
There are suggestions for center use and/or direct instruction. Included in this packet are the “Basics”, “Center Materials”, “Special Needs Friendly Supports” and a variety of “Assessments Materials”.
**Note on spelling of pizzeria. When I first developed this product I looked up the spelling of pizzeria and many local places used "pizzaria". Since this is a product for young children I chose the spelling with the "a" since it looked more like pizza. Since then I have decided to include both, so you can pick the one you are more comfortable with.
