Product Description
This document is great for BOTH special education teachers and classroom teachers!

This checklist consists of THIRTY NINE ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) accommodations to help students succeed in your classroom! I have compiled this list of accommodations that I implement in my general education classroom to help those students with Autism or Autistic tendencies to be more successful! Every child is different, so I’ve researched and included a wide variety of accommodations to try! Having this checklist handy keeps me organized and holds me accountable when providing accommodations for my students.

The checklist contains columns to record the date the accommodation started, the duration of the accommodation, whether or not the accommodation worked, and a place to take notes. By using this simple checklist, you are collecting the data you need to help your student(s) be more successful in your classroom! You will also be able to share the data you have collected with parents, and members of your school’s intervention or RTI/MTSS team.

TO USE: Print off the checklist and write the student’s initials on it. Put the checklist on a clipboard near your desk where it is most accessible. I tend to try each accommodation for at least 10-14 days to determine if it works or not. Often times I may be trying 2-3 accommodations simultaneously; such as having the student type writing assignments on a computer, and sitting on a carpet square while on the carpet for whole group lessons.

Below is a list of accommodations that you may need to find in advance...not all accommodations on the list require purchasing anything!!

*Light covers/filters to dim classroom lights
*Printed and laminated visual daily schedule
*Printed and laminated visual cards/signs
*Kid-sized rocking chair
*Headphones
*Wiggle seat
*Exercise ball
*Kid-sized stool
*Carpet square
*Chew necklace
*Chewable pencil topper
*Coffee straws
*Gum
*Variety of fidgets
*Weighted vest
*Weighted lap buddy
*Print and laminate a ‘break card’
*Print and compile common social skills stories

I hope you find this checklist as useful and handy as I do! I have even included a BLANK checklist for you to add/record your own accommodations! I seem to add accommodations to this list every year, and when I add more, I will be sure to update this checklist. Feel free to leave me feedback and let me know how these accommodations are working in your classroom!
