This is a 4 page document to support positive self talk. This is a great visual tool for students who struggle with Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTs) that stem from anxiety, low self esteem, fear of school or school refusal, anger, depression, and anything else that may cause students to think negatively about themselves, school, social situations, etc. Students learn that negative thoughts can take over their mind, and that they have the power to "chomp" the negative thoughts with their own positive, logical thoughts. 10 different "ANT Species" are introduced and explained, (such as the worrier, the critic, and the mind reader) and suggestions for battling them with positive thoughts are provided. There is also a worksheet for students to write their negative thoughts, and alternative positive statements.
