Description

A great activity to introduce digital breakouts to your students!! This digital activity can be completed independently, with partners or small groups.

A Fall/Autumn digital breakout. Sleepy squirrel has forgotten to save enough food for winter. Help Sleepy squirrel find clues to unlock a forgotten stash of acorns.

Check. This. Out! Perfect for Early Finishers!

Fall Writing Prompts with Toppers (Printable) - Super Cute Craftivity!

**Please be sure that your IT does not block Google Links that have a shared setting of "anyone with a link" if you plan to use this resource.

I have included a NO PREP Autumn Leaves are Falling Down - Digital Breakout (Google Slides).

The NO PREP version is ready to go, just "make a copy" for each student and then share (Google Classroom works best!) If you do not use Google Classroom, you will need to be able to share the link with your students e.g. Seesaw, a class webpage, Wakelet, QR Code, etc...).

  • You will NOT have access to the Google Forms.

This Digital Breakout Includes:

Student Google Slides w/ locks

Answer Key and Clues

Lock 1 - Students will complete a graph by dragging and dropping leaves, then they will count the leaves.

Lock 2 - Students will think critically to navigate through the maze of leaves.

Lock 3 - Students will complete an online jigsaw puzzle and then put letters in the correct order to form a word.

Lock 4 - Students will correctly label acorns.

FAQ:

1. Should I use present mode? No, students need access to the entire slide deck.

2. Where do I find the clues? Students should click on the "Click HERE for the clue," then click on the long BLUE URL. Some clues "force" students to make a copy. This allows them to manipulate the resource. Once the clue is solved, students will need to return to the original slide deck. (Be assured that students catch on quickly)

3. Where do students click "submit?" Students click "Click HERE or Click HERE to unlock the lock," then click on the BLUE URL.

Each slide contains one link to the clue and (if you added the Google Form lock), one link to the lock. This should be the only prep you need, once the Google Form lock links have been added, just share with your students in Google Classroom, ensuring to select "make a copy" for each student.

Please feel free to reach out to me. My students really enjoy using Google Slides to "breakout!" It provides the scaffolding many need to be successful with such tasks as critical thinking, communicating, collaborating, and problem-solving!
