Math center for autumn!
Picture cards (1 – 10 items)
Number cards (1 - 10, with ten frames)
Word cards (optional: picture labels, number labels)
Comparing Mat (in color or black and white)
Black and White pages if you have limited color-copying capabilities or want your students to bring this home for extra practice.
Recording Sheets (3): with sentences, tracing option (bottom half needs >,<,= filled in), and totally blank.
Use just the picture and number cards. Match up or play a game of Memory!
Use the picture cards without the number cards if you haven't yet mastered numbers 1-10; have your students place them in order from least to greatest.
Use only the “equal” to card if your kids aren't ready to use the < and > cards.
Use picture and word cards. Each beginning letter is different. Perfect for your K students or early readers! This should be low on the frustrating scale and build confidence with your budding readers!
Use the picture cards and have your students build and record addition sentences.
Have your students arrange the word cards in ABC order.
Have your students complete the mat and then write out a full sentence (stretch activity!). For example:
Nine leaves is greater than two crows.
Have a moveable alphabet (or magnetic letters, or letter tiles)? Use the word cards to build the words!
