Here are a FEW Language Skills that can be addressed during a Hike:

  • Receptive Identification
  • Expressive Labeling
  • Describing items using semantic features and adjectives
  • Compare and Contrast
  • Prepositions for where items were found
  • Giving Instructions during the Hike to get back to the starting point
  • Sequencing Skills for order that you found items

Families can also work on using carryover of speech sound system skills (articulation and phonology) and using fluency techniques.
