I hope you’ll be doin’ the happy dance with this Dollar Deal.

Both projects are quick, easy & fun.

You and your kiddos will absolutely LOVE the results you get when doing a fall-tree crayon melt.

Peeling broken crayons, and then “shaving” them with a crayon sharpener to make piles of slivered fall colors, then pinching and sprinkling them over a bare tree, provides excellent fine motor practice, for strengthening those weak finger muscles.

There are 8 (2-on-a-page) tree patterns to choose from. Simply place a piece of wax paper over the sprinkled tree, then press a warm iron on the top for a few seconds.

The colors will melt together making more vibrant shades, as yellow blends with red to make a brilliant shade of orange.

My kiddos are thrilled with the result, as they ooh & ahh over their creation, when I gently peel the paper off to reveal an awesome fall-colored tree.

I used the same trees on a full sheet of paper to make the other craftivity in this packet. I call it an Alpha-tree.

Do as a whole group activity, where everyone makes their own tree & glues the “leaves” down.

There are many ways to “decorate” the tree with “leaves”:

Fingerprints, sticker dots, color tiles that have letters on them, or blank ones children write on.

When everyone is done, give children a piece of candy corn to use as a manipulative to play “I Spy” a letter. You can see at a glance who is having difficulty.

Make several sets for your literacy center.

Students match the uppercase ”letter leaf tiles” to the lowercase letters that are glued on the tree or match uppercase to uppercase for little ones just learning.

To save you time, I’ve included completed samples. Simply print & laminate.
