This Battleship game is designed to practice the reflexive verbs found in Unidad 2 Leccion 2 of the Avancemos 2 text. It requires students to complete the battleship grid in order to play. The verbs must be conjugated in the present tense as well as the preterit tense. After students complete the first page, I usually distribute (only to those who have completed the grid) the answer page, then recollect it. Once they have checked their work, I allow them to begin play with another student who has completed and checked his/her work. The second page can be used for a second game, to help keep track of hits and misses, or as homework. Your choice! It is great practice and students truly seem to enjoy it. Furthermore, it covers all four language learning skills: WRITING (the conjugations), READING (the answers to check as well as the grid during play), LISTENING (to verbs spoken by teammate), and SPEAKING (the verbs to try to sink the teammate's battleships).
