These activities correspond with the vocabulary of Avancemos 3, Unidad 2 Lección 1.
To use the first activity, make enough copies of the pages 2 - 4 of the document for each of your students (they must be single sided). Students must cut apart the words and definition. On another sheet of paper they tape/glue the matches. You can check their accuracy, or you can make a couple copies of the answer keys (pages 5 and 6) that students can use to check their own work.
On another day you can play the pig game (Juego de Cerditos). Make enough copies of the game (page 8) for half of your class. Students will play the game with a partner. Give each pair of students a game board and two crayons (different colors). The students should then choose a special pig (it will be different for each group) and decorate it. This pig will be worth 5 points in the game - the rest of the pigs are worth one point.
To play the game, read a definition from pages 5 and 6. The students must race to touch the correct pig first. After you tell the correct answer (I always project the game board on the Smartboard), the student who identified the word correctly first gets to color in that pig with their crayon.
You can use pages 2 -4 for other activities as well. The students can play memory or quiz each other on the definitions.
