This is an activity that took my students approximately 20 minutes to complete in pairs. There are eight sentences that are broken into three parts (present tense phrase, conjunction, subjunctive phrase). You or they must cut apart the segments, which are shuffled in the document, and then arrange them to form logical sentences. There are deliberately MANY options possible, but not all are sentences are possible/logical so they really must think and look for meaning (as well as identify the present tense verbs and distinguish them from the subjunctive verbs). You could make it a game, a learning activity, or simply an in-class challenge. My students really liked it and I hope yours do, too!
