There are many ICAO-approved tests to determine the English level of pilots and ATC. This activity is designed to simulate the test administered by Pearson.
In Part C of the test, the Repeat task, the test taker listens to a sentence in common English and then attempts to repeat the
sentence aloud verbatim. As the sentences increase in length and complexity, the task becomes increasingly difficult for speakers who are not familiar with English sentence structures.
This two-page packet includes an introduction page as well as a page of items similar to those used by Pearon. They include the top 250 four-word clusters in spoken English.
The teacher or coach should say each sentence, one at a time. The test-taker needs to repeat the sentences exactly as they were spoken. This is a difficult task for non-native speakers, and practice before the test day is recommended.
