Avoid the Leprechaun Thinking Trap board game is a fun and engaging way for kids to review thought traps (cognitive distortions). Thinking traps are certain negative patterns of thoughts that can trap both kids and adults into anger, depression, or anxiety. By learning to challenge thinking traps, kids will feel happier and will have more control over their thoughts, leading to better behavior choices.
This goal of the game is to avoid getting caught in the leprechaun thinking trap, while answering questions, and collecting the most positive thinking coins. Question cards consist of three different types of questions:
Orange cards-Name the thinking trap, Yellow-challenge the thinking trap, and Green= review the different types of thinking traps.
Game packet includes: game directions, game board, spinner, game pieces, 12 thinking trap posters, 44 question cards (includes answer key for the “name that thinking trap” cards), blank cards to add your own questions or examples, positive thinking gold coins, a pot of gold template to keep track of the coins earned, a worksheet that gives information about thinking traps, and a worksheet that lists ways to challenge negative thinking traps
