Axel's Neat Writing Rescue! A school age handwriting legibility OT program.

Description
This unique occupational therapy program has been created to teach school age children about handwriting legibility, work on applying this information and then self-checking their own writing.
Axel is a robot who has been "captured". In rescue 1, children are taught 5 aspects of handwriting legibility in the form of 5 challenges to solve. In rescue 2, a handwriting checklist reviews what was learnt in the first rescue and children are asked to use it to solve the next clues.
The speed that the program is conducted will depend on the child's previous understanding of handwriting legibility and their ability to apply this information. Some children can complete five challenges in one therapy session and others will require a slower approach. Axel's tips for neat writing provides further suggestions to target each aspect of legibility. Each of these tips may need to be tried and reinforced over time.
The program includes a full page handwriting checklist, desk size checklist, a handwriting legibility tips page and 30 further writing challenges.
