Yo-Ho-Ho!! Pirates are invading my speech room!!
This is a fun open-ended game perfect for reinforcement during drill/practice of skills (like sight word drill, math facts drill, articulation drill, fluency drill, answering questions) and tasks that children need motivation to complete.
This game is designed for 2 to 8 players. Each child chooses which pirate they want “to be” and gets the corresponding treasure card.
Will they be Lady Faye the Sword Slinger? Peg Leg Jack Petey?
Cap'n Katey Hook Jones? Jolly Jim Swashbuckler? Buccaneer Mad Mahoney? Matey Two Toes Morgan? Maybe your kiddos will pick Old Smelly Feet Finegan or Dirty Cap'n Wood Sparrow!
The card for each pirate tells what jewels/gems (treasure) that he/she needs to find to fill his treasure chest.
Place all jewel cards and the wild cards facedown on a table or in a treasure chest of some kind (if you own one). Students should take turns picking a card after performing X numbers of skills/drills. Complete directions for easy play are included. Watch out for those pesky wild cards! The first player who collects all of their jewels/gems needed for their treasure chest, wins the game!
This game is especially fun on “talk like a pirate day!”
*Includes everything you need to play and pirate themed words and phrases sorted by phoneme to use for drill if desired.
