During a unit on the Aztec, Inca, and Maya civilizations, students create a foldable (folded like a brochure) that includes various information from each civilization.
The foldable is a great tool to lay out information and have students make connections between the three civilizations. It requires them to think critically about the information they received in their notes.
I incorporated this into class by dividing class into two - students would learn about one civilization for the first half, and then work on their foldable the second half of class with the information they just learned.
You will have to search and print a blank map of South America for the front for students.
