Research has shown that one of the best ways to demonstrate that you have learned and understood new information is to teach it to someone else. But to make allow students to be a little more creative and have some fun, they will be “teaching” others by creating a children’s book detailing one of the major cultures you have studied.
As part of this project, students will focus on the Maya, Aztec, OR Inca cultures. The first part of the book will describe the major aspects of the civilization’s culture.
The second part of the book will describe how the civilization fell.
Students should use the information and notes that you have received in class, but you also need to have at least one additional resource. This can be your textbook, online encyclopedias (Wikipedia does NOT count), or the books and research materials from the library.
