Cortés has arrived! Montezuma welcomes him into his capital. Then the terror begins! This exciting free-for-all game will bring the events of the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs to your classroom! Using a pair of dice, each group will try to save as many Aztec people for a period of 2 years. But be careful, conquistadors and disease are around every corner. The group with the highest population wins! This file includes a blank chart to keep track of your rolls and population count, a comprehensive rules sheet, an alternative rules sheet, and a reminder handout for each group. This game will add to your discussions and learnings about the Aztecs and the Spanish conquest. My high school students love playing it! It takes about 35-40 minutes to complete on average.
