Animated Step-by-Steps are animated PowerPoints designed to address literacy, language, AAC and a host of academic goals. Each page includes a series of animations. Read the text up to the star … click … and see an animation of what you just read.
There are three versions of each resource. This is the SymbolStix Version (n2y). Please note these resources do NOT translate well into Keynote. The symbols are added after the page animations to promote a 'literacy first' agenda.
B-I-N-G-O Weather uses the tune from the ‘B-I-N-G-O song’ (a song about a farmer and his dog named Bingo) to provide students with practice with weather related print (S-U-N-N-Y, C-L-OU-D-Y, S-N-O-W-Y, W-I-N-D-Y, R-A-I-N-Y and F-O-G-G-Y). The verse is repeated 5 times each time replacing the next letter with a clap, e.g., clap – I – N – G – O … clap – clap – N – G – O … clap – clap - clap – G – O etc. This resource provides students with considerable visual support while providing them a lot of practice with letters. This activity is a fun addition to a circle time routine and pairs well with another ASbyS called, What’s the Weather?
This resource can be displayed on the 'big screen' (interactive whiteboard, large screen TV using Apple TV) or the 'small screen' (computer monitor, iPad/Android tablet using the free Microsoft PowerPoint app). When using the interactive whiteboard the use of a blue tooth, infra red switch or the Attainment Switch App that uses your iPad as a switch is especically motivating for students.
