Shake up your back to school with this unique and fun get to know you activity that can be used in ANY subject. Students answer questions about themselves, crumple up the paper and throw it to the front of the room, and other students pick it up to answer another question!
• Oh, Snap Worksheet 1: Students choose three pictures from their cameras/phones, draw the picture, and write about them (an option is provided for students with no camera/phone).
• Oh, Snap Worksheet 2: Students create a page of a scrapbook about their summer where they write about and draw two events.
• Selfies! Worksheet: Students draw their own "selfie" and write about themselves!
• 3 Different eye-catching posters for classroom or hallway display of any of the assignments.
Use this fun, modern interactive notebook style assignment as a first day/week activity to get to know your students. The assignment asks students to invent 4 phone/tablet apps that reveal something about their personality. They design the name and logo for the apps, cut around the dotted edges, and write about what the app reveals about them on a piece of looseleaf underneath! Also includes a poster for bulletin display.
Students get their own personal passport and 'travel' to four different stations in the room to complete a half page assignment. Once they have completed it, they pass it in to you, you stamp it or sign it (stamps not included), and they move to the next station!
Start your year off by having students complete this fun first day assignment. Writing To Your Future Self has students fill in a one page worksheet with four sections about themselves, their world, their interests, and their goals. Prompting questions are detailed, so students will know exactly what they can include in each section. At the end of the course or at the end of the year, hand this back to your students to see if they have changed.
Make your first day back to school easy with this ready-to-use assignment. I created these questions as a way of getting to know my students personally and academically at the beginning of each year/ semester. It is 18 questions long, and after I read their responses I always have a better understanding of where they are coming from. This can be done as a quiet in class assignment, or as homework.
