BACK TO SCHOOL/ALL ABOUT ME Playdough, Dot Marker Activities

This is a fun pack to target language skills with play dough and dot marker pages using an "All About Me" and "Back to School" theme. Great for the first few weeks of back to school or a "5 senses" unit in a preschool classroom or in speech therapy.

-"All About Me" play dough mats for body parts vocabulary (6 mats with a different kid featured on each one) -- target vocab, WH questions, and functions

-“All About Me” play dough mats with questions students answer about themselves, with visuals of what the question is asking; 6 mats with the same questions but a different kid featured on each one

- “What do I wear?” play dough mat: Use a paperclip and pencil with the spinner to land on either “cold weather” or “warm weather.” After landing, have students identify an article of clothing that they would wear during that weather, and then smash a play dough ball on to that item.

-“What do I see at school?” play dough mats: 10 school supply images included on each mat; target vocabulary, WH questions, and functions

-“What happens at school?” play dough mat with pictures of actions that happen at school. Great for working on pronouns, 'be' verbs, and –ing verbs, or receptive ID of action words!

- “Smash & Dash” play dough mat: Place dough balls in each circle. Go through and have students name items in the stated categories. As they go through, they can smash each ball as they name something in the category.

- “Spin & Smash/SPLAT!” play dough mats: Use a paperclip and pencil with the spinner on p20. Smash a ball of play dough on the same color splat as the color you landed on.

Mats on pp21-22 can be used as general reinforcers, as they are blank splats of color, or you can have students name an item that is the same color as the one they landed on to work on categories/associations. On p23, have students label/describe the function of the school object on the color they landed on before smashing it with play dough.

“Dot the Answer” pages- WH questions for All About me/5 Senses and Back to School themes. Students use dot markers to stamp the correct answer. 3 pages in this format are included.

“Dot the Answer”- 5 senses: Work on categories/basic concepts re: 5 senses by following the directions and stamping the correct items! (ie use 1 color stamper to stamp all the items that would be loud, and use another color to stamp the things that are quiet).
