This is a simple and fun recorder exercise that my students LOVE! You can use this as a whole-group activity by projecting it on the board, use it in small groups of students working together, or make enough for individuals to practice alone.
The dice are intended to be used as a pre-reading exercise, or with groups that need reinforcement of basic skills. I use mine EVERY YEAR at the beginning of our recorder unit!!!
Students will be able to practice the skill of correctly playing recorder notes B-A-G, without having to read the notation on the staff.
Have your students do the following:
1. Choose and clap a rhythm card
2. Roll the B-A-G recorder dice
3. Play the rhythm on the note that the dice landed on
