“Baseball Literacy” is a resource binder – a reference source of baseball-related activities, lesson plans, links, and more.

--baseball poems with questions and vocabulary, lists of baseball poems and collections, and links to resources about writing baseball poetry
--capitalization and comma proofreading worksheets
--ideas for writing about baseball and writing inspired by baseball art

--baseball lesson plans and links, many with a history connection
--links to baseball articles, many written for a young audience
--links to numerous baseball quizzes and trivia games
--links to amazing baseball reference sites
This compilation is the result of extensive work. It is not a unit plan. Rather, it is a resource binder for teachers intending to do a thematic unit around sports or to work baseball into their curriculum. Many of activities have a Language Arts focus, but there are numerous links to lessons and ideas for interdisciplinary lessons and projects. It can be shared among teachers of multiple grade levels and used every year.
Feel free to adapt the activities to meet the needs of your curriculum. P.E. teachers might consider picking a couple of activities for students who are temporarily out of P.E. for medical reasons. Thanks for checking, and good luck!
