This is a worksheet I created while teaching beginning orchestra. In it's most basic form, it is a fingering chart that young players can use as a reference. However, instead of just memorizing a fingering chart, I thought it'd be fun to make a game out of it. This game is based on the popular Battleship. The idea is that students break up into pairs (like instruments together). One student hides a single "Battleship" in one of the circles. The other student guesses where it is located such as "D1" until found. The game is designed to reinforce fingerings, open strings, and letter/note names. My students enjoyed playing it and it did assist in their learning. Full directions of the game are listed right on the worksheet.
