In this kit, you will find:

CLASS RULES - Jointly develop a short and positive list of class rules, responsibilities and/or routines to be followed. Record these and have the students sign their names in the border. Display prominently.

SIGNALS - Use these common phrases to get your students' attention.

N.O.I.S.E. - Place the peaceful letters on display near the board. Decide upon a consequence as a class if all the letters are removed. Remove one letter at a time if students are too noisy.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS - Use an image of traffic lights to indicate the expected noise level at various times throughout the day. Add your own colours and labels to the template included (e.g. orange light = whispers).

ON TASK, OFF TASK - Jointly create a class display by writing descriptions then illustrating what each would look like if a student was on task verse off task (e.g. listening, sharing resources, asking for help).

SMART GOAL - Have students set regular goals for themselves using the S.M.A.R.T. acronym.

PUNCH CARDS - Reward students with punches (using a hole punch) in the cards for good choices. Alternatively, they could earn a sticker or stamp. Personalise the goal for each student on the blank template.

POSITIVE NOTES - Use these notes to celebrate students' achievements in class or send them home for parents.

REPORTING OR DOBBING - Jointly create a class display by illustrating the descriptions or use the blank template to create your own descriptions.

FILL YOUR BUCKET - Reward students' good behaviour with stickers or stamps to fill their buckets.

CALM DOWN PLAN - Students think of 5 steps to create a plan to work through when dealing with their emotions in a socially acceptable manner (e.g. take deep breaths, use words, ask for help, go for a walk).

ETIQUETTE CARDS - Jointly create classroom etiquette cards and choose different cards to display at various times throughout the day (one at a time). You may prefer to do these in poster form.

BRACELETS - Add your own desired qualities/behaviours (e.g. I am a good listener) and distribute bracelets to students when they have worked hard to earn them.

BREAK TIME LUCKY DIP - Jointly create a lucky dip of break activities that students may take part in when needed.
