What educators are saying

I've only used setting and cause and effect but they are a big hit with the kids. I think they were better able to grasp the concept with using these card.

Each set contains thirty large cards with a variety of activities designed for middle school and upper elementary language arts or reading classes. These task cards are designed with more content per card than many task card sets – perfect for older kids who can handle more than one quick question per card.

Check out the previews above for information about each of the sets and to see sample cards.

These task cards support a number of the Common Core Standards for reading literature and informational text. By working with each reading skill individually and in a variety of ways, kids learn to really understand the elements that make up stories and informational texts.

With the variety of activities, these cards would work well for differentiating instruction in a class with mixed ability and skill levels. Task cards are perfect for centers, stations, and small groups or individualized instruction, and are also a great resource for whole class games like Scoot and Footloose.

The Easel versions are ready to use with directions, answer boxes, and moveable pieces.

For more task cards on additional language arts topics such as writing and vocabulary, see: Task Cards.
