BINGO! Every student of all ages loves to play BINGO. What better way to introduce and practice the understanding and usage of present tense verb endings (-ing, -s) in sentence form.
This activity includes 6 different BINGO cards, a call card, and "balls" to laminate, cut out and draw from a bag or jar.
There are two different activities which can be facilitated in one or across several sessions of therapy.
TWENTY FOUR different verbs are targeted in this activity along with four different pronouns to practice informally (he, she, it, they). Positional vocabulary (above, below, beside) is also targeted throughout the activity through prompts provided encouraging verbal responses from students. Words like Kicking, Hugging, Waving, Looking and Jumping are all verbs they need to learn and use to be understood by their peers and teachers effectively. Many of these verbs, pronouns and prepositions are critical to the student's early classroom vocabulary as they start school and come back to school for their Head Start, PreK and Kindergarten year. ESL students of all ages would enjoy learning the vocabulary words included in this activity.
This product is designed to be used in a small group RTI or speech therapy/language lab setting. Life Skills classrooms of all ages could use this product for vocabulary development and to increase quality of verbalizations of students as they transition into the workplace. Of course it can be modified for larger settings and I encourage feedback regarding the use of and appropriateness of this product.
