This is an independent summative project for Biology or AP Biology students. It can work as a final project after the AP exam, a test score replacement at the end of the year, or as a standard non-lab research project. It is an oral presentation project, not a written paper. The objective is for students to apply what they've learned about human anatomy/physiology and the global environment to propose a solution to an ongoing problem that interests and concerns them. Each student should become the class expert on their topic, present their findings, and field questions from their peers. Clear instructions and a detailed grading rubric are provided. It spans two weeks, including time for the oral presentations. My students love and value doing this scholarly work.
