This editable document can be used in high school Biology classes at the start of each class. Warm-up/starter questions are included, each set of questions given in a format that encourages written answers, as well as more creative outputs. Also, there are places to list your class agenda items (What is being done that day in class?), homework, and objectives (Why are you doing those things in class? What will students gain?).
This is the first document in a series that can be used throughout your course. This document has 3 sets of starter classes, with answers, to start 3 consecutive classes, focusing on introductory material in biology. The questions can be used as preview or review questions.
I use this format with a Smart Board, although it can work with other projectors. I keep it up during class as much as possible. Students begin answering their questions as soon as they come into class, as part of our routine. I also upload them to my school’s website, so students and parents (and administrators) have access to them throughout the year.
