This product consists of a number of 'wh' questions on Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks and George Washington Craver. They are meant to motivate students to do research to learn more about these persons as well as garner knowledge about history and social studies. The questions along with given pictures will guide them in their writing of these persons biography.
There are word searches linked to each person for vocabulary building and to aid in the writing of the biography. They can also be used for a Language arts writing class.
There are selected passages on each person. Students are required to read the passages and do review and opinion writing.
There is also the opportunity for poetry writing.
Visual art activity involves creating picture collage of seven selected Black History month personalities.
The material covers History, Social Studies, Language arts, vocabulary, research and visual arts.
The questions provide teaching opportunity for the teacher. Selected sections can be used for morning word, research tasks and as home work assignment.
