This simulation/animation (1 of a set of 21) was designed to provide your students with a clearer understanding of various conceptual ideas in Chemistry, Physics, and General Science. The animations/simulations can be purchased individually or as a bundled set (see my store at PinnacleScience for significant savings).
As a veteran Chemistry and Physics teacher, I sought to construct a simple and useful (for students and teachers) set of computer animations/ simulations intended to provide my own students with a clear mental image of the many abstract concepts found in science. Through a combination of multimedia files and supporting documentation (including answer keys), this program has been successful throughout dozens of school districts and hundreds of individual students.
“BOYLE'S LAW (JAVA)” is composed of an exceptionally easy-to-use JAVA-based computer simulation and accompanying workbook. Teachers have found success using the simulation as an effective teaching tool on classroom computers, SmartBoards, and in computer labs. Individual students have used this simulation on home computers to help clarify classroom lessons and as review for quizzes and tests.
The simulation provides students with a fundamental understanding of the relationship between the volume of a gas and its pressure (at constant temperature). Students will be able to “see” the behavior of the molecules within the gas sample and how their motion relates to the volume and pressure of the gas sample. During the simulation, the user can manipulate the pressure of the gas; numerical data is collected and graphed in order to explain the derivation of Boyle’s Law and the inverse nature of the pressure-volume relationship. The simulation provides teachers and students with an effective tool for illustrating gas behavior and provides the students with an effective tool for review and reinforcement.
The .pdf file is an 8-page manual consisting of necessary vocabulary, a brief overview of the animation, a step-by-step walk through of the animation (so students can use the animation on their own in school), multiple practice questions, and answer key.
The software is downloaded from TpT as a single “.zip” file which, when extracted, yields the JAVA-based Flash file (.jar) and a “.pdf” file for supporting documentation.
The simulation will run on either a PC or Mac and there is NO installation of any computer files onto your computer (no need to bother IT people in your school). The simulation runs as a JAVA-based Flash file (.jar) – simply double-click on the file. It could not be any easier!!!
The purchase of a single license of this product makes it permissible for the buyer to use the simulation on one computer.
The purchase of additional licenses allows other teachers in your building to use the animation and supporting documentation on their computers in their classroom. The purchase of 5 additional licenses (6 total) will allow the teachers and all the students in your building to use the animation and supporting documentation on their individual computers or in computer labs.
