PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a powerpoint and SMART notebook presentation (your choice) that goes along with a scholastic article on the BP oil spill. Many students have never seen an oil rig or understand how oil is pumped out of the ground. This presentation gives students the background knowledge they need before they read the article. The article can be found for free HERE. Students will read the article and use close reading strategies (number the paragraphs, highlight main idea, circle unknown vocabulary). This is an excellent article for an earth science teacher (fossil fuels) or physical science teacher (density).
