HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT:

{This product is most successful in a special education or general education setting with a high functioning student who is placed on a Tier 2 or Tier 3 behavior intervention plan.}

I. Create folder with break posters (for single students) - or display on your classroom wall to use with multiple students or all students in self-contained classroom.
2. Teach student how to take a break, what it looks like, and when a break is needed.
3. Provide them with a break card (or multiple) for them to use during the day, when they feel like they need it - this should be student led as they are gaining independence and working on self-managing.
4. ALSO, included is a "Removal from Activity Reflection" for those times when the student goes through your due process system/classroom management consequence latter, and must be removed from the activity. I always teach students that time they have to spend reflecting on negative behavior choices, is missed instruction time which has to be made up. Because of this, there is a TIME OWED box. So, naturally students want to show you that they are ready to return to the lesson as soon as possible. This time is generally taken at the end of the day during our Perferred Activity Time; however, it's up to you or if you chose to use this.
