Best used when meeting your future class/future students, or in the beginning of the year with a new class.
Whether meeting your future class or getting to know your students at the beginning of the school year, this activity is perfect after going over your curriculum, fun projects, or other grade-level milestones. After learning about your class and the content, you can give your (future) students this activity!
→ Have the students draw themselves engaging in some of the things they will learn and do with you next year inside the thinking bubble.
→ Then, take a picture of each student to go over the space indicated on the paper. Get creative! Students can be smiling, looking excited, or doing a thinking pose.
→ Last, I print out the sunglasses pictures to glue onto the posters, and use construction paper to make a big sun!
Let the students know that their creations will be waiting for them when they come back to school in the fall, and BOOM! Before the school year is even over, you have a bulletin board or door decoration ready to go! Better yet, it is something your students have made, to help them feel welcome and excited on the first day!
