Description

While you spend time studying about the Tabernacle, the purpose, the furnishings, and the events in the Bible leading up to building it, you will also gradually make one as a class. A student works on one aspect and adds it to the tabernacle you have set up somewhere in your classroom.

This may take a number of weeks but it is totally worth it! Whoever is using that centre follows the instructions on ONE card per child using the supplies that you provide. They may or may not finish the one card in one evening. When the project is finished, they will call the teacher over and have them look at their work and the teacher will go to the next card needed for the project.

HAVE FUN! This is sooooooo worth the time and energy the students will put into it when they see the finished tabernacle!

Just think of how the Israelites felt!

This is an excellent resource as one of the centres while going through the "GOD COMES DOWN" (Quarter 1, Lesson 3) part of The Scripture Scout’s SLEUTH FOR THE TRUTH curriculum. Do this centre while you spend time studying about the Tabernacle, it’s the purpose, the furnishings, and the events in the Bible leading up to building it, OR DO IT AS A PROJECT FOR THE CLASS AND NOT AS A CENTER. It works well both ways, but students seem to enjoy the centre process of building it slowly because it lets each student be responsible for one part and watch the tabernacle build. Start this project BEFORE you start teaching the lessons about it just in case it takes a few lessons...
