This is a data sheet and a program description sheet bundle that includes 6 data sheets and the corresponding program description sheets for identifying capital letters. 3 data sheets are for expressively identifying capitals and three are for receptively identifying capitals.
Expressive and receptive programs are broken up into three levels that build upon each other. Level 1 contains two sets of letters (four letters each), Level 2 contains four sets of letters (four to five letters each), and Level 3 contains six sets of letters (the entire alphabet, sets being four to five letters each). The purpose of breaking the alphabet up into levels and sets is to help break the task of learning the letters into smaller pieces so it isn't as daunting a task.
The data sheets are based on the three step prompting system (Tell, Show, Do) which helps maintain consistency between anyone who completes the program with the student.
The program description sheet includes a learning target, staff procedures, a description and examples of the prompting system, mastery criteria (based on a target of approximately 80% accuracy), information on teaching sets, and prompting reminders. The program description sheet is designed so that someone with no special education or discrete trial training (DTT) experience can use the program with high accuracy.
The data sheet contains the learning target and mastery criteria as well as scoring information and a spot to write in the target sets that are being taught. In addition, there is a space to indicate whether the student met criteria for that particular trial and a space for the person collecting the data to initial.
