A great way to introduce and practice inferring with your students is by using pictures.
With these sets, students will infer using a different picture every week. For each photo, students will first observe and note their observations (what they see or notice in each picture). Students will then infer using the "5 Ws" - who is in the picture, what is happening, when it is taking place, where it is happening, and why the event is happening. For each inference, students must add justification from the picture.
These sets are meant to be copied into journals. They can be used in small group instruction, work stations, or whole group. I have included all photos at the end of each set, in case you want to project or print the pictures to show students a color copy.
This bundle includes 40 photos and accompanying note pages. All photos are public domain images.
