Using Poetry to Develop and Secure the Skills of
Visualizing, Rhyme, Rime, and Prosody
Book 1 and Book 2
Developed for Grade One Classroom and/or Intervention Group
Poetry lends itself to many emergent reading skills. It engages students in language and word play, while the rhythmic quality makes the poem engaging, inspiring students to read and reread. This product focuses on the skills of visualizing, rhyme, rime, and prosody.
This product was developed based on my years of working with struggling readers at the emergent level. Over the years, my students have enjoyed this resource and always enjoyed sharing the poems with their families.
