Beginning Sounds Mega Pack (CCSS) includes:
It is so important for student to learn their sounds in order to read and write so lots of practice is completely necessary! This product is just that but in a fun sort of way. There is a gumball machine with each letter. Each bubble gum machine has a capital and lowercase letter along with a picture of something that starts with that sound. There are four gumballs for each gumball machine that have pictures on them that they need to sort and put into the correct bubble gum machine. Then there are student response sheets to fill out in groups of 5-6 letters at a time. I hope your students enjoy this as much as mine do!
2. Beginning Sounds Ice Cream Sort (CCSS)
Students distinguish beginning sounds using ice cream cones that each have a letter (capital and lowercase) as well as a picture on them that starts with that letter. Their job is to find three ice cream scoops with pictures on them that start with the letter on the ice cream cone Then students fill out the response sheets or formative assessments for six letters per formative assessment or student response sheets.
3. Beginning Sounds Sorts with Formative Assessments for Each
Get your students or child connecting their letters and sounds with Beginning Sounds Sort. Each letter has a mat in which six picture cards can be placed according to that letter's beginning sound (vowels each have the short vowel sound as not to confuse beginning readers). this product also includes a student response sheet or what I use as formative assessments for each letter.
4. CVC Beginning Sounds Word Work Activity Cards (CCSS)
Beginning sounds are missing in a CVC word with a picture. Children pick letter tiles, magnetic letters, or use a dry erase pen to fill in the missing beginning sound space on their card (we've even used play dough for these cards...which the kids l-o-v-e)!
5. Beginning Sounds Posters
This pack includes uppercase & lowercase letters with directional arrows and a little poem. I teach this poem to them as I'm modeling it.
It has pictures (six per poster and you can blow them up or shrink them according the size of paper you are using).
Lastly, it includes labels to put under, beside, or on top of every single picture.
-for the vowels, I kept them all the short vowel sound as not to confuse beginning readers-
Put this on poster board, construction paper, etc….and hang them around the room as you study each letter. They’re bright, colorful, and educational…especially with the poem, directional arrows on each lower and uppercase letter, and a beginning sound picture.
6. Beginning Sounds PRINTABLE Sorts
Use for teaching the alphabet sounds or RTI. These sorts include all the letters! All the beginning vowel sounds are short vowels, so as not to confuse students with the long vowel sounds yet.
7. Beginning Sounds Paint Stick Sorts (SO FUN)
Have your students practice their beginning sounds with paint sticks. You can get paint sticks free anywhere....I got mine at Home Depot. Next, you will need to put velcro on the un-marked side of the paint stick either in eight pieces or just a long strip down the front. After..... print, cut, and laminate (if you'd like) and put the opposite piece of velcro to the back of each picture card so that they stick when added to a Beginning Sound Paint Stick.
This product….Beginning Sounds Paint Stick Sort includes…………
-letter A-Z header cards (one per stick)-
-8 beginning sound pictures for each letter of the alphabet (except x….it has 8 ending sound pictures)-
Two Versions of Picture Cards are Available:
-Set 1 includes the picture along with the word at the bottom and these cards-
-Set 2 includes JUST the picture without the word written at the bottom and are a smidgen smaller than Version 1 cards-
-Use either version or use both for different ability levels of students….you choose & enjoy-

I call this my student's "Kindergarten Helper". I usually paste this as well as my Blends & Digraphs Freebie
in a file folder, laminate (with the file folder wide open), and then every student has one at their desk.
