I wish I lived closer to New York so I could take my U.S. History class to Ellis Island. Since 3,000 miles is quite the distance, I compiled this set of questions to coincide with the virtual tour of Ellis Island. The website is provided for you, along with questions for students to complete. I have my class complete tho activity in partners to help prepare them for their final project of the year. The class absolutely loves getting to use modern technology to explore the past! This resource also includes a page of notes with little known facts about Ellis Island, excerpts and discussion questions from Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle," and a final project where students create a children's book summarizing their knowledge of the Great Wave of Immigration!
