Regardless of when your school year begins, Patterning is the first strand I teach. It is followed by Number Sense and Data Management. You may teach in any order you like. These math lessons run from the 1st week back to Mid-November (Progress Reporting Period). This bundled package includes PA, NSS, and DMP anecdotal and observation recording sheets.
These anecdotal and observation recording sheets will allow you to determine whether a student is mastering a concept you have taught. It will also make developing guided math groups much easier.
These recording sheets are intended to be used during first term or in Canada (Progress Reports). They follow the math concepts taught during this period.
Each recording sheet includes the lesson goal(s), big idea(s) and “what to look fors” to give you a whole picture of each students learning that you can refer back to often.
Using my trajectory/curriculum expectation resource along with these recordings will take these anecdotal/observations one step further in that it will allow you to see if your students are meeting expectations and where they are developmentally for each lesson taught.
