This is one of my favorite assignments in my US History class. I typically assign it during our Cold War and Civil Rights unit. It works well after lessons on the baby boom after WWII, the Cold War, and the American Dream in the 1950s.

9 Baby Boomer interview questions
This product could certainly be modified to fit your class needs. I usually reach out to faculty and staff to see if any would be willing to be interviewed, in case any students don't personally know any baby boomers (born between 1946-1964 and grew up in the US). It's also helpful to provide an example interview for them. I interview my mom and did a write up so they could see what was expected of them in the assignment.
This assignment is a great way for students to experience oral history and encourage them to talk directly to people who lived through the time they're learning about in class, an opportunity we don't always have in history class!
