Baby Signs Preview
Because children develop their receptive skills in language before being able to express themselves with spoken words, many parents and professional care givers introduce signing to babies and toddlers to provide them with a method for communicating.
This set of printable flashcards is meant to be used by the adult providing care. Each sign concept is presented with the word beneath it and again without the printed word. Fold each card in half and tape it, making a two-sided set of cards. As you learn the signs to teach your baby and/or toddler, you can quiz yourself by looking at the side with the sign; then check the reverse side for the written word that represents the concept. The last page of the set offers word descriptions of the sign movements.
Signs in this packet include ball, play, toy, book, swing, slide, diaper, bear, drive, car, apple, banana, cookie, dog, cat, fish, bottle, breastfeed, milk, finished, and I love you.
