The Baby Timeline Project is a great way for students to learn about developmental milestones in a Child Development class. Students may choose to present information on a poster or by using Google Slides, Prezi or PowerPoint. They use Chromebooks in class to research common milestones for the average baby and then find information at home for their personal milestones. There are also accommodations for students who do not have access to personal milestones. Parent feedback is always positive for this project and students enjoy the pictures and discussions about their first two years of life. After the class presentations, student work is posted in the classroom and information about developmental milestones is included on a chapter test.
