This PowerPoint file is one that I have used to introduce myself, course expectations, and course content to the students in my virtual high school chemistry class.
I recognize that this particular resource may not be useful for any other teachers to use in their own classrooms, since it is editable. However, the breadth of the Piktochart's utility is showcased in the slide set. Piktochart is a web-based tool for creating professional, attractive communications. I predominantly use this tool to post announcements to my classrooms and, sometimes, even to create emphasis for my most important email messages.
Additionally, purpose for creating the Teach Chemistry With Me blog was to simply provide other teachers with insight as to what really happens in other classrooms. So, if you are a teacher who is curious about how one might handle the first day in a virtual classroom or you need some examples to prepare your own list of classroom rules and "success suggestions", feel free to download this FREE resource!
Additionally, I am sharing actual video recordings of my lessons on my blog at www.teachchemistrywithme.com in an effort to reflect on strengths and weaknesses. It's my ultimate goal, this year, to transform each of my lessons such that they align with the principles of visual learning.
