This is a Song/Safety Booklet that will help cover basic safety, in and out of school, for lower elementary students. There are 2 versions for you to use. The first one is 7 basic safety issues plus 2 additional pages that you can use for any other issues you might want to add. In this version there are also lines at the bottom of each page so students can write something on each page.
The second version has the 7 basic safety issues and no lines to write on.
You can also print this off at 2 per page so the booklets are smaller!
I like to project this onto my smart board to use as a whole class lesson on the first day of school. This helps cover all of the School Rules that need to be discussed right away!
You can sing it to them first – Tune: “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”. The pictures and words are good jumping off points for great discussions. I also copy it off so they have their own copy to read/sing and take home.
Singing this as a simple, relevant text helps with fluency while also stressing how to act in social environments.
Thank You! Have a SAFE and GREAT YEAR! Panda DMC
