This is a quick social language card game that you can use at the beginning of the school year to discuss the summer and get back into the “school swing.”
Directions: Print cards (pg. 3-7) and game board (pg. 8) and laminate. Cut out cards. You may also choose to use the cards without the game board. Shuffle all cards and place face down on the table. Students take turns drawing a card and answering the question on the card. Questions vary, but all have a social language focus. If using with the game board, students can roll a die and to move around the board. Watch out for the star cards, which require the students to interact with other group members. The goal is to work through the entire pile.
There are a total of 40 cards (30 open ended question cards, 10 interaction cards).
